National Nonprofit Petco Love Invests in the MSPCA-Angell to Save and Improve the Lives of Pets in Massachusetts

BOSTON, May 23, 2024 – The MSPCA-Angell is set to receive a $10,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of its lifesaving work for animals in Massachusetts.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like the MSPCA-Angell — across North America, with 6.8 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in the MSPCA-Angell is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image-recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“When times get tough, our Community Outreach program is there as a vital lifeline in keeping people and their pets together,” said Neal Litvack, MSPCA-Angell President and CEO. “We’ve delivered more than 10 million pet meals to hungry pets and helped thousands of pets in need get the veterinary care they need. This kind of important work would not be possible without support from our donors, partners, and this generous, lifesaving investment from Petco Love.”

The MSPCA-Angell is a nonprofit organization with a mission to protect animals, relieve their suffering, advance their health and welfare, prevent cruelty, and work for a just and compassionate society in Massachusetts and across the country. Founded in 1868, it provides direct, hands-on care and finds adoptive homes for thousands of animals each year.
