More about Zeus:

I am a friendly and social guy once I am comfortable in my surroundings. I am calm and laid back.

I am on a strict urinary diet since I have a history of urinary obstruction. Stress can be a factor in these episodes, and I should be monitored closely in the period of adjustment after my adoption. Encouraging water consumption (feeding wet food, water fountains, etc), stress reduction/slow introductions to a new environment, and intermittent medications as needed may be part of my long-term management. Information about urinary obstruction and what it might mean for future care is available to interested adopters.

I should have a slow introduction to my new home, starting in one quiet room with managed hiding places, and gradually given more access to the house as I settle in. My adopter should be prepared to set me up in this room and ideally leave me be (except for feeding and cleaning) in the beginning and let me solicit interactions as I become comfortable.

My adopter should have a close relationship with a veterinarian.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon – 4:30pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.

Compatibility:
Cats: No, unless the existing cat is already on a urinary diet.
Dogs: No thanks
Kids: Yes, older, cat-savvy
