Seychelles is a sweet mare looking for her next pasture. She came to us with a history of being a broodmare and we are unsure if she has ever been ridden. Due to this, Seychelles is looking for a home as a companion at this time. She is smart and sound so may enjoy a light job eventually but would benefit from a slow and intentional introduction to equipment and tack. Seychelles is great on the ground and maintains her own space without crowding you. She enjoys being doted on and brushed. As her breed may suggest, she is high alert and often has her ears forward and head high taking in her surroundings. She has an impressive, regal look!

In the paddock, Seychelles has been turned out with both mares and geldings. She is a little higher in the pecking order so she will need a well matched friend if sharing paddock space. We have spotted her sweetly sharing with her current herdmate who is a gelding.

Seychelles is an easy keeper. She is currently on 1st cut hay and a balancer grain.

For the farrier, she will need a confident handler who will help her through her anxieties. She is a bit quick and sensitive with her hind legs when being asked to pick them up. She will need someone willing to work with her and show her it’s okay!
