Community Outreach – Pop-Up Pantry Attendant – Methuen

Description:

The Community Outreach team is seeking a personable and outgoing individual to attend two weekday events in Lawrence each month. By volunteering with our Community Outreach program, volunteers will directly impact pets and the families who love them!

Responsibilities:

  • Collect information
  • Engage in compassionate conversations with pet owners
  • May assist with set-up and breakdown of the pop-up pantry

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to remain standing for an hour
  • This role will involve light lifting, up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to record information on forms, using a clipboard and pen
  • Able to perform these duties in variant temperatures and elements including heat, cold, direct sun, and inclement weather

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Legible handwriting
  • Able to communicate with staff and pet owners in a friendly, empathetic, and supportive manner
  • Applicants fluent in Spanish will be prioritized. At minimum, we are seeking individuals comfortable conversing in Spanish.
  • Have the ability to keep information confidential
  • Reliability and punctuality are key for this role

Other Requirements:

  • The Pop-Up Pantry Attendant will be meeting our staff at locations in Lawrence. As such, applicants are expected to have a highly reliable method of transportation.
  • Attendance at a virtual orientation prior to the start date
  • Meeting with Community Outreach staff prior to start date

Time Commitment:

  • First Tuesday and third Wednesday of each month, 12pm-1pm. We are unable to accommodate requests for alteration to this schedule.
  • Minimum commitment duration of six consecutive months
