Julie Coen, Cardiology Assistant

Julie graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a concentration in animal behavior, and a minor in biology. Her professional career began at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, FL, where she worked with various species- her favorite animal being a pygmy goat named Ferdinand. The birth of her niece brought her back home to Massachusetts and, ultimately, to Angell. Julie worked in Inpatient and CCU as an attendant for almost a year. She enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment and the uncertainty of the next case coming through the door. Following a brief time away from Angell to work as an animal control officer, Julie was very excited to return to Angell as a member of the Cardiology Team. On her days off, Julie enjoys watching the Food Network, training her dog, Sawyer new behaviors, and re-creating projects she finds on Pinterest.

Erica Morrissey, Cardiology Assistant

Erica recently received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Vermont in the spring of 2020. She was highly involved in everything cow-related at UVM and misses her moo-makers back in Vermont. She was excited to jump from a small clinic in Burlington to Angell in Boston in September. In her free time, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, and hanging out with her cat, Mitzi, and Blue-Tongued Skink, Fi.

Angela Wansor, CVT, Lead Cardiology Technician

Angela obtained her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in March 2013. Her first position following graduation was at Angell in the Clinic department; during this time, she perfected her restraint, venipuncture, and triage skills. After two years, she transitioned into a specialty technician role in the cardiology department. She recently accepted a position as the Lead Cardiology Technician and is excited to help her fellow technicians and assistants learn and grow in this field. Angela also helps manage the interventional cardiology program, aiding the cardiologists and residents by organizing inventory, setting up hemodynamic and angiographic studies, and training new technicians in the catheter lab. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and pup, Stella, exploring all that MA offers.
