Animal advocates from across the Commonwealth will lobby lawmakers to advance animal protection legislation during Lobby Day for Animals 2015. The MSPCA and its supporters will be joined by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, The Humane Society of the United States, Animal Rescue League of Boston and the Massachusetts Animal Coalition.

WHAT:
Attendees will discuss bills with their legislators that will:
- Prevent the sale of dogs or cats less than eight weeks old, provide a remedy for the sale of sick dogs and cats and regulate certain breeders/prevent pet shops from obtaining puppies and kittens from USDA breeders with multiple violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
- Ensure animals left abandoned in vacated properties are found by requiring landlords and owners of vacant properties to inspect them within three days of vacancy.
- End the use of bullhook and chaining for traveling circus elephants.
Advocates will urge legislators to keep the 300-year-old ban on Sunday hunting.
