Register for a Lobby 101!
Many people tell us that they would like to help animals through legislation because they understand the far-reaching impacts that such efforts can have. However, many animal advocates also tell us that they don’t know exactly how to do so, and also that they’d like to meet other advocates who share their passion for animals.
If this sounds like you, attending Lobby 101 is your first step!
At Lobby 101s, we teach you how the legislative process works; we provide you with the tips and tools you need in order to successfully reach and influence your legislators; and we inform you about current priority animal protection legislation at the federal, state, and local levels. At our upcoming scheduled Lobby 101s, we’ll be discussing bills that relate to elephant ivory and rhino horn, wildlife protection, circus animal abuse, pet shop issues, animal control laws, and more.
Lobby 101s are also a great opportunity to connect with other people in your community who are passionate about animal protection. We find that many people enjoy doing animal advocacy work alongside a fellow animal advocate, especially if they take on a larger, long-term project, like passing a local animal protection ordinance.
In the coming months, we’ll be holding Lobby 101s in Northampton, Methuen, Centerville, and Quincy. Advance registration is required, so sign up now! For questions, email advocacy@mspca.org.
And, if you’re not already a member of the MSPCA’s Animal Action Team, sign up to stay apprised of important animal protection developments and calls to action. Also, like us on Facebook!
