Description:
Our shelter and community clinic is looking for assistance from veterinarians currently licensed to practice in Massachusetts. Volunteer Veterinarians most often assist by performing spay/neuter procedures, but we also welcome those with a specialized skillset (Exotics, dermatology, etc.)
Due to limited staffing, we are unable to provide training on spay/neuter surgeries; we are looking for veterinarians who already have established surgical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform spay/neuter surgeries
- Additional surgeries as determined by your skillset and the animals scheduled on your volunteer day
- Complete necessary documentation regarding procedures
- Communication with shelter staff or owner of an animal in regard to surgery performed
Qualities/Skills:
- Ability to work well in a small, busy area
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail
Requirements:
- Copy of Massachusetts veterinary license
- Proof of professional liability insurance
- Resume, with your average time to complete dog and cat spay/neuter surgery in your application
- Upload these items during the application process or email to capevolunteer@mspca.org
Time Commitment:
- One full day a month or more preferred, Monday through Friday (The clinic is closed on weekends)
- Six month commitment preferred – longer commitments welcome!
