10:00 – 11:00
- Arrive at the Great Hall, check in, and pick up your folder with information tailored just for you
- Help yourself to some refreshments; there will be a light plant-based breakfast with coffee. Please bring a reusable mug and/or water bottle to help us cut down on waste.
- Ask questions of staff if you have them
- Drop off towels/blankets, pet food in donation bins
- Visit information tables
- Pick up goodies
11:00-11:45
- Program welcome
- Legislators will accept awards and speak about animal protection legislation
11:45
- Group photo – please participate! Lots of people in the photo shows how many people are speaking for the animals.
12:00 – 12:30
- A plant-based lunch is included with your registration. Please bring a reusable mug and/or water bottle to help us cut down on waste.
- Talk with representatives from the MSPCA, ARL, HSUS, and ALDF about the day’s priority legislation.
12:30 – rest of day
- Go to your appointments with legislators
- Check back in with staff/volunteers, meet other attendees, tour the State House
- Fill out evaluation forms (in folders) about how the meetings went. This helps us strategize and follow-up with legislators.
- Celebrate the work you’ve done for animals!
