Tree of Life Memorial Sculpture

Displayed in the lobby of Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston is our “Tree of Life” brass sculpture. The Tree was created by artist Sanford Werfel in 1990 in honor of Angell’s 75th anniversary. Loved ones of all kinds, whether human or animal, whether living or deceased, are commemorated on the Tree with their own engraved brass tribute plaque. Together, these tributes create a visual expression of love and respect for our friends, family members and animal companions.

Leaf Specifications

The minimum donation is $300.

A leaf plaque can accommodate 140 characters including spaces. All text is capitalized and centered for uniformity. Processing time takes 5-6 weeks.

Branch Specifications

The minimum donation is $1,500. Branches are sold out.

A Branch plaque can accommodate roughly 125 characters including spaces. The number of lines/alignment varies due to the unique shape of each branch plate, but all text is capitalized for uniformity. Branches take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive from the engraver because they are specially cast.

Stone Specifications

The minimum donation for a Stone is $5,000. Stones are sold out.

A Stone can accommodate roughly 100 characters including spaces. Text is larger than on Branches and Leaves. All text is capitalized and centered for uniformity. Stones take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive from the engraver because they are specially cast.

Installation

Since Angell is open 24/7, donors may stop by to view the Tree at any time. In-person installations can be scheduled Monday-Friday during business hours with advanced notice. Otherwise, our staff will pick a spot on the Tree for you and will email photos and a map of its location.
