“MSPCA-Angell was there for my wife Laura and me when we adopted our wonderful cats. They were there for us when two of our cats developed FIP, and became very sick. And earlier this year, the people of MSPCA-Angell were there for me, again, in a very different way. They helped me mourn my wife’s unexpected death.
I approached them with a need to give something back in Laura’s memory, and they suggested just the thing: I could help create a small room for ICU patients and their owners to sit in, quietly, alone, during visits — something we would have appreciated. A small plaque in the room, which I like to think of as a tiny sanctuary, honors my wife’s memory, and those of our cats, Puma and Evie. Most who enter the hospital will never see it, but I know it’s there. And that means so, so much to me.” [Pictured here: Laura Levis]
