MSPCA-Cape Cod’s Fifth Annual Fundraising Plunge Slated for Super Bowl Sunday
BOSTON and Centerville, Mass., Feb. 1, 2019 – The bravest animal lovers on Cape Cod will once again make the mad dash from the sand of Craigville beach in Centerville, Mass. into the icy waters of the Atlantic in a bid to raise thousands of dollars for animals on the Cape, the MSPCA-Cape Cod announced today.
The fifth annual Polar Bear Plunge is scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3 at noon. Online registration is open and on-site registration begins at 11:15 a.m. on the day. Participants are encouraged to register online as soon as possible to secure their spot in the lineup.
Registration is $25 and includes a 2019 Super Bowl Sunday Polar Bear Plunge towel and any donation over $50 earns a plunger a limited edition “Shock & Thaw” and “Plunge for Paws”-themed long sleeve shirt.
There is ample public parking available right at Craigville beach and all plungers and their supporters are invited to the 19th Hole in Barnstable afterwards to warm up with beverages and bites.
This year’s event is expected to raise over $30,000 to meet the medical and sheltering needs of the hundreds of animals who shelter at the MSPCA every year before they are placed into new homes.

The MSPCA-Cape Cod has once again pulled out all the stops to make the Plunge extra fun, with prizes for top individual and team fundraisers, including:
