$15,000 Grant Helps Fund Low-Cost Spay and Neuter
BOSTON, May 5, 2025 – The MSPCA-Angell is happy to announce it is a recipient of a 2025 grant from the Massachusetts “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program. Funds will be put toward the organization’s low-cost spay and neuter services.
“Access to affordable spay/neuter is a huge piece of controlling homeless animal overpopulation in Massachusetts,” explained Mike Keiley, vice president of the MSPCA-Angell’s Animal Protection Division. “Last year, we were able to perform close to 10,000 low-cost spays and neuters in our community clinics—a jump of more than one-thousand from 2023.”
“Grants like this will help us continue that momentum through this year, so we’re extremely grateful,” he added.
The “I’m Animal Friendly” license plates are a program of the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC). Funds are granted annually to organizations that demonstrate a need for funding and provide low-cost spay/neuter services. Through this year, MAC has awarded over $3,300,000 to many deserving organizations.
