BOSTON, July 26, 2022 – The MSPCA-Angell is set to receive a $10,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love during a special celebration at the Medford Petco, 3850 Mystic Valley Parkway on July 26 in support of its lifesaving work for animals in Massachusetts.
Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like the MSPCA-Angell — across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.
“Our investment in the MSPCA-Angell is part of more than $15 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We recently celebrated the one-year launch anniversary of Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
“In the past year, our Community Outreach team has delivered millions of pet meals to owners struggling to care for their pets and more than 10,000 low-cost subsidized medical treatments have been performed inside our Community Clinics. This work would not be possible without support from organizations like Petco Love and our generous donors,” said MSPCA-Angell President, Neal Litvak.
The MSPCA is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of animals in Massachusetts and the northeast. Last year alone, the MSPCA placed more than 4,000 animals into adoptive homes, administered over 40,000 life-saving vaccines to pets, and treated more than 120,000 pets across its care network.
