At just six weeks old, this tiny pup we are calling Tuesday was found outside last night ill with Parvovirus, which can be deadly without emergency treatment.
Tuesday was reportedly found running down a street in East Boston, and Boston Animal Control reached out to us to help him once they realized he was sick with parvo. We immediately agreed to take him and get him into our ICU at Angell Animal Medical Center, where as of this moment he is stable, but his treatment is ongoing. We will need to watch him closely and keep giving him the best treatment we can.
Parvovirus is always fatal without treatment, and can be avoided altogether with vaccination. Tuesday was very likely not vaccinated against parvo, but we are pulling out all the stops to get him well. Assuming he recovers, we’ll make sure he’s fully vaccinated before placing him into an adoptive home.
Donate so we can give Tuesday, and every animal in our care, the best treatment possible!
