Meet the Cardiology Team

Rebecca L. Malakoff DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Malakoff is a board-certified cardiologist and Massachusetts native who has worked at Angell AMC for over 15 years. After graduating from veterinary school at North Carolina State University, she trained at Angell both as an intern and cardiology resident, and went on to serve as the director of the cardiology residency program. Since transitioning to working solely at Angell West, she is happy to focus her practice on the medical management of various cardiac diseases in pets. This includes diagnostic testing such as echocardiograms and electrocardiograms, for both outpatients and hospitalized patients in need of consultation.  .

Julia Lindholm, DVM

Born at Lowell General, Julia took a very roundabout way to find herself at Angell. She moved to Georgia when she was six and later to North Carolina. She lived in multiple cities in Texas, including College Station where she attended veterinary school at Texas A&M University. A rotating medicine and surgery internship in Indiana was followed by a cardiology internship in Ohio. Finally circling back to the beautiful city of Boston for her cardiology residency. She couldn’t be happier. Her passion, outside of cardiology, is in horses. She rode hunters and jumpers professionally for a short time before attending veterinary school. Her quaint Boston apartment doesn’t suite a horse very well so her after work animal fix is two tuxedo Manx boys. Coming home to specialize in cardiology is quite simply a dream come true for Julia.

Following graduation from veterinary school in 2016, she stayed at Iowa State for another year to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery. Outside of veterinary medicine, Natalie enjoys playing ice hockey, volleyball, softball, percussion, and spending time with friends, family, and her two dogs and two cats.
