MSPCA-Angell’s “Pet Video Stream” Up and Running

Would-be Adopters Can Virtually Visit Pets 24/7 at www.mspca.org

Adopters Receive a FREE Logi Circle Camera with Pet Adoption in May

BOSTON, April 29, 2016 – The MSPCA-Angell is celebrating National Pet Month in May by unveiling its all-new Pet Video Stream, which gives adopters a birds’ eye view of adoptable animals in its Jamaica Plain, Mass. adoption center.  The live stream, powered by Logitech and the Logi Circle Home Security Camera, is available 24/7 at www.mspca.org, so adopters can get up close and personal with pets before they visit the shelter.

Logi Circle Giveaways in May!

Adopters who bring home a pet from any of the MSPCA’s three adoption centers in May will receive a free Logi Circle, courtesy of Logitech.

The giveaways come on the heels of a Logitech survey which revealed that one in four U.S. pet parents admit they would rather video chat with their pet than their significant other.  The Logi Circle—which is simple to install and use—allows pet parents to monitor and interact with their pets no matter where they are through the free iOS® or Android™ app.

Alyssa Krieger, who manages the MSPCA’s Boston adoption center, sees the camera as an excellent fit for new pet owners.  “As a pet owner myself I understand how eager we are to check on our pets when we can’t be at home with them—and adopters will be able to do just that when they get their free camera in May,” she said.

Krieger also revealed the unexpected benefits of the live stream at the MSPCA.  “It’s extremely helpful for our team to monitor what the cats in our colony room are doing—whether they’re getting along or whether we need to change up their housing—just by viewing the live stream.  It’s an effective tool that ensures the animals in our care are as comfortable as possible before we find homes for them.”

Logitech is also supplying free Logi Circle cameras, which retail for $199.99, to adopters who rescue pets from the San Francisco SPCA throughout National Pet Month in May.  Adopters who miss out in May can get a $50 discount coupon toward a Logi Circle, which can be redeemed between June and October 2016.

Vincent Borel, director of new ventures at Logitech, is eager to kick start the May giveaways.  “Pet parents treat their animals like children and it’s only natural for them to want check in on them throughout the day,” he said.  “We’re excited to provide pet parents with a tool to do just that.”
