Meet Bambi! This fun loving, pint-sized girl came to us on a transport from a shelter out of state so we don’t know much about her history. What we have found is that she loves to play with her toys and is super snuggly once her needs have been met. We know that she would do best with an adopter who can provide her with some structure and a gentle approach to training while she catches up on her manners.
Stop by our Methuen at Nevins Farm Adoption Center to learn more about this silly girl!

Meet Bailey! Being 9 years old and shall we say…chonky…you might think he would be a perfect couch potato companion. But Bailey has other ideas in mind! At times sweet and affectionate, he loves spending time around his people, greeting visitors, and being the center of attention. Bailey also has a fresh side though, and is looking for a family who can keep up with his adventerous spirit. An adult only home where his people are excited to engage him in active play time and are savvy at reading cat body language is where this big guy will thrive. Sometimes in his excitement Bailey forgets the difference between toys and hands and has learned in the past that a nip or a swat will get him what he wants (hint, it’s food). We’re not sure how he’d do with other animals but with the right match and a slow transition it’s possible he could have a cat or a dog friend. His age and size also mean he has some things his future adopter should keep an eye on with their veterinarian to make sure he can stay the funloving troublemaker for years to come.
If you have a yen for a big orange boy with some cattitude, Bailey just might be the cat for you. He is hanging out behind the scenes at the Boston Adoption Center so visit and ask for him by name, or email cbourgoin@mspca.org for more info to see if you’re a match.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Bailey. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Nole and Pepper are a pair of curious birds who are looking to find a home together. They have not had the most socialization with people, which can lead to them being a bit nippy when hands get too close. Nole and Pepper enjoy watching tv and listening to music together. They have been in the same room with other birds, but haven’t lived in the same enclosure as other birds. This pretty pair is looking for a patient family who can help them settle in at their own pace.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Nole. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

This sensitive shy lady is Baby Grey, a 2 year old cat looking for a new home.
Baby Grey can be worried when interacting with new people or environments, and she’s been through a lot of pretty scary transitions recently, so she’s finding shelter life to be overwhelming. She’s hoping to go to a lower-traffic home where she can work on adjusting and building confidence at her own pace.
Because she’s fearful, Baby Grey will do best with a family able to practice petting consent – meaning, letting her be the one to initiate interactions, and offering breaks when petting or grooming to ensure he’s still opting in.
If you’re looking to open your home up to a beautiful gal who’s likely to need a gentler start, then come on down to chat with us about Baby Grey! She currently lives in an office away from the main adoption area, so ask staff about her when you get here!

We’d like to introduce a very special cat named Paddy. He is a 10 month old playful cat that loves getting pet, playing with toys, and has a progressive case of FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus which will shorten his lifespan, and we are hoping to find him a loving indoor-only home where he can live out his life. Despite his diagnosis, he is a social and affectionate cat with just about all humans! Paddy would need to be the only cat in the household, or have feline friends that also have FeLV. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption.
More info on FeLV can be found here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951934

Meet Ned! His favorite things are getting treats, working on puzzle toys, kongs and busy boxes! He is a sweet and snuggly guy with his people. Ned loves to play and is full of energy, and would make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. Ned prefers the company of human friends to canine friends but has had some positive interactions with well-matched dogs. He has met a few dogs while in our care, and we have observed that he prefers introductions to be slow and calm, like parallel walks, to give him time to get comfortable before jumping into play. He also seems to prefer dogs with a polite play style that can exist and gently play with him instead of crashing and wrestling. Ned is an eager learner and is looking for a patient adopter who is prepared to do training. He needs some help mastering polite greetings, leash skills, and puppy some basics.
If you think Ned could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Meet sweet Barnaby! This older and distinguished gentleman has had a tough couple of years without a lot of attention and human interaction. As a result he can still be quite nervous when doing something new or when he is unsure of what is being asked of him. At 20 years young, we are currently looking for a companion home where this sweet boy can enjoy the retirement he so deserves.
Barnaby was diagnosed with EOTRH by our veterinarian and recently had surgery to remove his incisors which were causing him a good deal of pain. The procedure went very well and he is on the road to recovery – we can already tell he is in a lot less pain. Barnaby is looking for a very special adopter who is familiar with senior horse care – bonus if you already have a good equine dentist! Barnaby is otherwise up to date on medical and farrier care. He can be nervous for some veterinary and handling interactions but stands very well for the farrier.
Barnaby has lived out 24/7 with access to a run-in shed, but is currently stalled overnight with day turn out. He has lived with mares and geldings and generally prefers as much turn out time as possible!
Interested in learning more about Barnaby? Please fill out an adoption inquiry!

Meet Jade, a charming older gal looking for that special someone to be the center of her world. Jade is a busy lady who would thrive in a quiet environment with a consistent routine and a family who is ready to make adjustments as she continues to settle in. She lived with children in her previous home, but was worried or overwhelmed when there was too much commotion, so she would do best in a lower-traffic home–if there are kids in the home, they should be able to follow her management plan.
Jade can be a tad worried when meeting new people, but once she warms up, she is falling into your lap wanting endless pets. She says no thank you to living with dogs right now, please! Jade was reportedly scared of the cat in the previous home, so would prefer any cats in the home to be mellow and tolerant, and would need full separation onto start.
Miss Jade has a history of bladder stones, so is currently on a prescription diet. Adopters should plan to establish regular care with a vet to ensure that she’s feeling her best.
If you think Jade could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Meet Arthur, a 3 year old Husky with a heart full of potential. We have limited history on him, but know that he was living in a bubble, meaning he was not meeting strangers or other dogs, and is very fearful as a result–Arthur can be shy and uncertain of the world around him, but with patience and a gentle approach to training, he is learning that the world is not so scary.
As Arthur has an abnormal background, he is looking for an adopter who can offer him a calm, low-traffic environment where he can continue to grow and learn. He will need someone who’s ready to teach him all the basics, such as housebreaking, walking on a leash, and general manners, using positive reinforcement training (Arthur loves snacks and is very smart, so he’s a great training buddy!). As Arthur is worried and has a lot he’s working on, he says no thank you to living with other pets for now, please!
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Arthur. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Look at this little sweet pea! Avon is friendly and silly and playful and just all around adorable. Is that not exactly what everyone wants in a puppy? At any moment, this little girl will crawl on your lap, or pounce on a toy, or do a full assault on your shoe laces. Be prepared!
Avon would love to go to a home with a confident dog that can both show her the ropes and also deal with all that a puppy entails. Cats are a possibility, if your cat can handle a silly puppy. And kids who want to play endless games of tug would be perfect. A puppy brings so much love into a household. They also bring some work. First thing will be to puppy proof the house. Avon is such a baby, she will need to learn everything, starting with how to wear a collar and leash. The rewards are worth all the work!
Would you like to meet Avon? Come see her at the MSPCA in Boston on Tuesdays through Sundays from 12PM to 3:00PM.
