MSPCA-Angell Readies for Seventh Annual Spring Gala

BOSTON, May 19, 2014 – The MSPCA-Angell today announced an action-packed agenda for its annual Spring Gala, to be held Wednesday, May 21 at Space 57 at the Revere Hotel in Boston.  Four hundred guests are expected to celebrate the many ways the MSPCA has touched their lives, and the lives of their pets.  The event also serves as a signature fundraiser for the MSPCA; the organization hopes to raise over $400,000 to support its ongoing shelter, advocacy, law enforcement and veterinary programs.

WCVB-TV anchor and passionate animal champion Randy Price will again emcee the Gala, which will run from 6:00p.m. to 9:30p.m.  Chairing the event for the second time is one of Boston’s top lifestyle gurus: writer, stylist and marketing consultant Erica Corsano, who was just named “Social Studies” columnist for the Boston Herald.  The event kicks off with MSPCA-Angell President Carter Luke’s “Animal Tales” presentation, which overviews several heartwarming stories of animals the MSPCA helped in the course of the last year.

Amazing Auction Items!

The Spring Gala will again include a live auction with all proceeds earmarked for the MSPCA’s animal protection programs.   Attendees will bid on a total of six prize packages including:

  • An in-home gourmet dinner by Todd Winer of Pastoral, who will prepare a specially tailored five-course meal for ten.  Hope Family Wine will pair each course with the perfect wine, making this package—valued at $2,500—truly irresistible.
  • The “Owner’s Special” Boston sports experience. This $4,000 package lets the winner experience Boston sports like the owners do—with seats behind the Red Sox home plate at the Monday, June 16 game vs. the Minnesota Twins.  The package also includes a VIP tour of Fenway Park and autographed baseballs from Jon Lester and Koji Uehara.  Also included are courtside seats in Corinne and Wyc Grousebeck’s chairs at a Boston Celtics game.  Bruins fans are represented too, with a signed portrait of the entire Bruins team and an NHL hockey stick autographed by Bruins center Chris Kelly.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime luxury vacation in Bali with accommodations at Villa Paradiso, an exquisite private home located on the Eastern Coast.  This $4,500 package will take the winner to an exotic culture and a water-front luxury home surrounded by ocean and mountains.  The package also includes up to four complimentary full body massages and a diving excursion for two accompanied by a master diver.

The full summary of auction and raffle packages can be found here.

Said Corsano on her second time chairing the Gala, “The Spring Gala has fast become a signature Boston fundraiser for a cause near and dear to my heart: the plight of animals of all kinds.  I’m honored to again serve as Chair and look forward to seeing hundreds of friends, as well as the generous sponsors who are again supporting the Gala.  It’s a fantastic evening to celebrate the MSPCA’s mission with animal lovers from every community around the city while enjoying a spectacular evening of food, drink and reverie!”
