BOSTON, Sept. 16, 2015 – The MSPCA-Angell announced today it has received a $6,000 grant from the Massachusetts Animal Coalition through the “I am Animal Friendly” license plate program.
The grant will be used to provide 150 free pit bull spay and neuter surgeries for dogs in the towns of Roslindale, Mattapan, Roxbury and Dorchester, as well as Methuen, Lawrence, Lowell and Haverhill.
Jean Weber, Director of Animal Protection at the MSPCA-Angell said, “This grant will help us provide free spay/neuter and vaccinations to pit bulls in our communities. Ultimately these surgeries will help control the population of pit bulls in Massachusetts by keeping dogs healthy, happy, and in their homes.”
