BOSTON, Aug. 10, 2015 – The MSPCA-Angell and Animal Rescue League of Boston announced today that the nominating process for the 2015 Massachusetts Animal Control Officer of the Year Award has officially opened.
Nominations should be submitted in writing and may come from government officials, fellow officers, animal protection organizations or citizens. The winning officer will have demonstrated an exemplary record of promoting responsible pet ownership in the past year by:
- Manifesting a dedicated, humane attitude toward the treatment and wellbeing of all animals
- Effectively enforcing pet responsibility laws
- Conducting public awareness and humane education programs
- Maintaining cooperative working relationships with other agencies involved with animals, such as state and local government departments, other ACOs and animal protection groups
Submissions should explain how the nominee has met the above criteria and should be sent to both the MSPCA-Angell and Animal Rescue League of Boston by Sept. 25, 2015. Submissions can be sent to the attention of:
