Meet Amelia Earhart

It`s a bird! It`s a plane! No, it`s Amelia Earhart! Amelia Earhart is our big wonderful girl who`s spent her time in the shelter working on her best manners with people and other dogs. While she is a big, high energy girl, Bella can also be an affectionate, sensitive love bug with her people. She is quite athletic and would enjoy a home with people ready to be attentive to a young dogs needs. Amelia Earhart loves sitting in the sun, lounging with her people, playing brain games, and long walks with dog friends- all perfect things to get started on with her new family this summer! The shelter is a rather stressful space for her, so her adopters should be committed to giving this lady ample time to decompress at home. Our staff is well-versed in all things Amelia Earhart, and are excited to help get her family started on the right foot during her transition home!

At this time, Amelia is not looking for a home with cats however may have the potential to live with another dog or kids! Shed even enjoy having some role-model dog friends outside of the home who can show her the ropes, too!

If you think Amelia Earhart could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-4:30pm no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs.

Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog thats a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources.

Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
