How to find us:
By Subway or Bus
- Take the Green Line's Arborway (E) trolley to Heath station.
- Walk 0.5 miles up South Huntington Avenue.
- Pass the Veterans Administration Hospital and a residential block.
- The Boston Care and Adoption Center is on the left, just before the traffic light.
- We can also be reached on the 39 bus, which runs from Back Bay to Forest Hills. Request the bus driver to stop at the corner of South Huntington and Perkins St.
From the North or South via Interstate 93
- From I-93, take exit 18 (Mass. Ave.) onto Melnea Cass Boulevard.
- Go about 1 mile to the Tremont Street intersection and turn left.
- Go about 2 miles, staying straight. Tremont Street becomes Columbus Avenue.
- At the traffic light - with the orange line Jackson Square station on your right - turn right onto Centre Street.
- Follow Centre Street for about 0.5 miles to the South Huntington Avenue intersection.
- Turn right at the light. The Boston Care and Adoption Center is the first entrance on your right.
From the West via Route 9 and Route 1A
- Take the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route 495, or Route 95 (128) to Route 9 east.
- In Brookline, pass the Brook House on the right.
- Go under the Jamaicaway (Route 1A) overpass, and turn right at the next light.
- Follow the trolley tracks.
- Pass the Green Line Heath station and continue on South Huntington Avenue for 0.5 miles, passing the Veterans Administration Hospital and a residential area.
- The Boston Care and Adoption Center is on the left, just before the traffic light.
From the South via Route 95 (128) and Providence Highway (Route 1A)
- Take Route 95 (128) to Providence Highway (Route 1A north) in Dedham.
- At the rotary that is 1.5 miles from the Route 95 (128) cloverleaf, bear right onto Washington Street, heading northeast toward Roslindale and Boston.
- Go about 4.5 miles to the Orange Line Forest Hills station.
- Go under the Arborway (Route 203) overpass and continue straight on South Street.
- Go 1 mile to a Civil War monument on a traffic island, bearing right and continuing on Centre Street.
- Follow the trolley tracks for 0.5 mile, bearing left onto South Huntington Avenue.
- Go 2 blocks and through 1 light.
- The Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center is the first entrance on your right.
