Cape Cod Volunteer Program

Want to devote your time to helping homeless animals in need?  Volunteer at the MSPCA! The MSPCA cares for thousands of animals every year, including cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, birds, and more! We rely on our volunteers to help us with everything from cleaning to fundraising events and everything in between.

What Do Volunteers Do?

What Kind of Positions Are Available?

Volunteer opportunities are available every day of the year. Click here to view our volunteer jobs in Cape Cod (PDF file).

Most volunteers will average 2-3 hours a day once a week. Some positions are only open during specified hours each day. Please look through the position descriptions and time commitments to see which opportunity works best for you. All necessary training is provided.

We also have a foster program where you can help young, sick or injured animals in your home. Learn more about fostering.

How Do I Apply?

Please note the minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old.  If you are not yet 16 years old, please click here to learn about other ways to help.

The first step is to either submit an application online or complete a paper copy at the adoption center during open hours.  Once you have submitted an application, you will receive an email with the information for our next volunteer orientation. Orientations are usually held twice a month at the adoption center. Due to the number of applications we receive, it may be a few weeks before you hear from us regarding the orientation date.  We appreciate your patience in waiting for our orientation.

If you are looking to volunteer temporarily for community service or as a group, please email our volunteer coordinator.

Please email our volunteer coordinator or call the Adoption Center at 508-775-0940.
