Want to devote your time to helping homeless animals in need? Volunteer at the MSPCA! The MSPCA cares for thousands of animals every year, including cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, birds, and more! We rely on our volunteers to help us with everything from cleaning to fundraising events and everything in between.
What Do Volunteers Do?
- Daily care of animals (cleaning, feeding, exercising)
- Socialize animals and provide enrichment (playing, behavior training)
- Help with fund-raising and community outreach events
- Promote animal adoptions
- And more!
What Kind of Positions Are Available?
Volunteer opportunities are available every day of the year. Click here to view our volunteer jobs in Cape Cod (PDF file).
Most volunteers will average 2-3 hours a day once a week. Some positions are only open during specified hours each day. Please look through the position descriptions and time commitments to see which opportunity works best for you. All necessary training is provided.
We also have a foster program where you can help young, sick or injured animals in your home. Learn more about fostering.
How Do I Apply?
Please note the minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old. If you are not yet 16 years old, please click here to learn about other ways to help.
The first step is to submit an application online. You will receive an email regarding the status of your application within a few weeks. We require a 60 hour annual commitment from all volunteers to make our staff training time worthwhile. The MSPCA-Cape Cod receives many applications for on-site volunteers and select volunteers based on the current needs of the adoption center. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
If you are looking to volunteer temporarily for community service as a group, please email our volunteer coordinator.
Please email our volunteer coordinator or call the Adoption Center at 508-775-0940.
