Cape Cod Volunteer Program

MSPCA Adoption Centers Volunteer Philosophy

Volunteers are an integral pillar of the MSPCA team and are critical to the success of our mission to protect animals, relieve their suffering, advance their health and welfare, prevent cruelty, and work for a just and compassionate society. Through their unique talents, knowledge, and care volunteers improve the lives of the animals we encounter through our programs and in our communities. Together, staff and volunteers act as positive role models as we strive to provide an integrated culture of kindness and support for the animals in our community and the people that love them.

Thank you for being here! Current volunteer opportunities are listed below.  Please read over the Job Descriptions for open positions as they outline the duties of the particular volunteer role.  Please apply to the particular position if it aligns with your interests and availability.  We will open and close volunteer position listings as our needs change. Don’t see anything fitting your availability, experience, and interests? Check back later!

Before reviewing open roles, we suggest reading our Frequently Asked Questions.

The minimum age to volunteer with the MSPCA is 16 years old. If you or your child is under the age of 16, you can view other opportunities to help the Cape Cod MSPCA.

All volunteer roles require regular access to email and internet and most require a weekly commitment on a set day and time.

Are you a Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician or Vet Assistant?

We are looking for MA licensed veterinarians, veterinary technicians or vet assistants with 1-2 years of experience to volunteer at our spay/neuter clinic. Email capevolunteer@mspca.org if you are interested in learning more!

Group Opportunities

The availability of on-property tasks for groups is limited. We encourage school groups and civic organizations to hold a supply drive benefiting our Community Outreach pet food pantry. These are hugely helpful! Our most common needs are wet and dry cat food, wet and dry dog food, dog and cat toys, and cat litter. If your corporate group is interested in an on-property group volunteer opportunity in exchange for a monetary donation to MSPCA-Angell, please visit our Corporate Volunteer Program page for more information.
