Fiona is a sweet, spirited dog who just needs a little time to feel comfortable. She can be nervous when meeting new people, but once she knows you, she absolutely loves getting pets and attention.
Fiona has lots of energy and would thrive with someone who enjoys playtime, walks, and helping her keep learning her manners. And after all that activity? Fiona is more than happy to curl up and enjoy a good nap.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Fiona. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Scooby is a very playful boy who absolutely loves being outside. He may need some time to warm up to new people, but once comfortable, he’s such a snuggle bug! He’s happiest sitting next to his people, cuddling up with a long-lasting chew, and taking long, cozy naps. His sweet and loving personality bring so much joy into a room, and his unique bark never stops being funny. Scooby’s favorite thing in life is tennis balls, and he can be worried about people trying to take them from him. He’s looking for an adopter who’s committed to reading his body language and never attempting to take items from his mouth – he will trade when offered, and we want him to feel secure with his favorite items. Scooby’s ideal humans are committed to training using positive reinforcement, willing to take things at his pace, and happy to let him self-entertain with his toys before settling down for some snuggle time.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Scooby. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Rockie is a young pup who`s smart and full of energy! He loves playing with toys and going on walks, and is very food-motivated and eager to learn. He loves his training sessions!
Being a young pup, Rockie is looking for a family who will show him the ropes and teach him to be the best pup he can be. He can initially be a little worried when meeting new dogs at the shelter, but we think he could do well living with a calm canine sibling who would serve as a role model for him. We also think he`d do well as you`re one-and-only dog!
If you think Rockie could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.
Meet Alia! This striking lil’ lady is both a great leash-walking and office buddy. She can be worried when meeting new people, so would like her social circle to be kept small as she’s adjusting to a new home. Once she’s warmed up, Alia has shown herself to be a loving and loyal companion. Alia is sensitive when it comes to veterinary visits and close handling (she says no thank you to being picked up without asking her first, please!), so she’ll need a gentle, patient hand and an owner that can be an advocate for her. Alia could potentially go to a home with older children that can follow her management plan and practice petting consent.
In her previous home, Alia was able to regularly share space with another dog, but she generally prefers not to stop and say hi to dogs on leash. It’s possible she may be able to go home with a well-matched dog with a slow intro, but she may also prefer to be an only pup. She has no history living with cats, so full separation and a slow intro will be the best way to help her be successful!
Alia may start off a little cautious, but give her time and a cozy spot to settle in, and you’ll see her personality shine!
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Alia. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Gigi! This small dog packs a punch! She’s a little firecracker with lots of energy and love to give! Gigi loves spending time outside-whether she’s running and playing with toys or just sniffing. For her size, Gigi is incredibly vocal! She would do best in an enviornment that encourages Gigi to be quiet, so a lazy quiet neighborhood without rowdy neighbors would be ideal! She can be a little uncomfortable with handling when it isn’t on her terms- so an adult only household or a home with polite older children would be best for her. Gigi would love to kick start her next adventure, come to our shelter and see if she’s your perfect match!
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Gigi. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Bowie! This sweet boy is happy, bouncy, and super wiggly. He has had two previous homes where he was not properly cared for and was brought to the shelter very underweight, so he is looking for a forever home who will keep him healthy and safe. Bowie loves to play and can be full of energy, so he`d make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or someone who`s just an admirer of the great outdoors. Lots of things may make Bowie excited, so he`d do best with adopters that can continue to train with him so that he can learn how to settle and enjoy some quiet time. Any kids in the home should be able to participate in his training plan, and should be unfazed by a bouncy pup and their goofy antics.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Bowie. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Kingston a distinguished older gentleman with just the right amount of gray on his muzzle and a twinkle of mischief still in his eye. Do not let his age fool you Kingston may be a senior, but he has still got plenty of pep in his step and a love for life that shines through in every wag of his tail. He is currently brushing up on his manners and would thrive with a patient, experienced human who appreciates the charm of a seasoned companion. Kingston has a history of living with a ct, however he can be a bit particular about his canine company, so he`s best suited to a home where he can pick his friends wisely and at his own pace.
Let us introduce you to this happy, older gentleman. This very good boy is Domino. Even though he is blind, Domino is a happy, friendly dog. He thinks his quality of life is just fine, thank you! Domino is house trained, walks very nicely on a leash, does well at the vet and loves kids. He could probably live with another mellow dog or a cat, starting with complete separation. He really is a chill office companion, and will always let you pick what to watch on tv, as long as he can curl up close by. Domino is the best of boys and deserves a family of his own. Do you have room in your heart for Domino?
Boomer is looking for a home where he can retire in style! Though he is 12 years old, this little guy is still active and spunky! Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Boomer. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Molasses is a little Over the Garden Wall soul—she may be wary of new paths and unfamiliar faces at first, but once she knows you, she warms right up and leans in for all the gentle scratches and pets. Still learning her way through the woods, she’s wonderfully treat-motivated and excited to train with someone who’ll guide her kindly toward her happily ever after. Molasses could live with another role model dog, a dog-savvy cat, and/or kids who are excited to participate in her training.

Meet Chloe! This girly might be shy at first, but quickly blossoms into a friendly and playful buddy. She spent some time in a foster home before joining us at the MSPCA, where she enjoyed hanging out with her people and playing with toys of all kinds (stuffies beware – she’s a shredder!). Her foster parents reported that she often sought household items to chew and destroy, so she’s looking for a patient adopter who’s prepared to set up a confinement space and manage her environment to prevent access to making the wrong choices. She’ll happily settle down with some strong toys, or a frozen Kong filled with peanut butter. She’ll thrive with an adopter who’s excited about training using positive reinforcement, and able to manage some frustration while they workshop her space.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Chloe. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
Meet Koda! This active girl is ready to cuddle up on the couch and get belly rubs after a day of adventures. She loves to play, especially in the snow, and has never met a stranger. Koda is still working on controlling her excitement, so is looking for a patient adopter who is excited about training using positive reinforcement and helping Koda work on her manners. Any children in the home should be hardy enough to tolerate being knocked into.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Koda. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
This little lady is looking for a home with people who are ready to cuddle and play! Described in her last home as a ‘playful couch potato’, Violet is happy to match your energy level. Violet has a positive history living with other dogs and interacting with young children.
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Violet. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Tyson loves snuggles with his favorite people, and enjoys befriending tree branches and conquering snowbanks out in the world. He would love to go home to a family that can help him warm up to them at his pace- once he’s comfortable, he is the biggest cuddle bug! Tyson is a very good 4 year old boy who came to us with a wound of unknown origin, so the poor kid has been in quarantine for 4 months! But now he is free! And ready to find his people. This good looking dog came from an overcrowded home environment with many dogs and we have limited history on him. What we have learned in these 4 months is that he is verrrrry smart, loves to train, and also loves to chill out and relax. He loves his friends, is a great walking buddy with beautiful manners and enjoys social walks with his dog friends. And he just melts with butt scratches. Because of his atypical background, Tyson will likely need a patient family who can support him as he decompresses into his new home. Tyson deserves a wonderful forever home. Does he sound like your forever dog?
If you think Tyson could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

Meet Indigo, a sweet, slightly shy senior pittie who enjoys naps, calm companionship, and being close to her people. She’s an easygoing, affectionate dog who would do best in a quiet, low-key home. Indigo has a few manageable medical needs and will need a future knee surgery, but she’s otherwise a gentle, content companion. She could live with a respectful dog who understands her shy tendencies, would do best in a cat-free home, and is looking for humans who can practice calm, considerate interactions. If you’re searching for a relaxed, loving dog who’s happy to take life at a slower pace, Indigo may be the perfect fit.
