The MSPCA considers humane education for all ages a priority, as a means of fostering compassion, responsibility and respect toward animals, each other, and the environment. To attain this goal, we are committed to offering a wide variety of outreach programs to the public.

New Program Community Education Presentations offer a chance for adults and families, whether current pet owners or potential adopters, to learn more about animal guardianship and ways we can all help animals in the community. These presentations are free to the public, and are offered about six times a year. The next presentation, Happy and Healthy Cats, will be hosted on Sunday, August 8th. New Program Free Lending Library of humane education materials now available! These materials, including dissection alternatives and chick-hatching alternatives, are available to educators throughout the Merrimack Valley for use in their classrooms.
New Program Veterinary Continuing Education Seminars are a unique opportunity for local animal health professionals to earn credits toward recertification. Offered twice a year in June and December, the full-day seminar awards 6 CEU's to attendees.
Guided Tours
We offer guided tours of our adoption facilities Tuesday-Friday, from September through May. You may also participate in a small self-guided tour during the weekends and summer months with your friends or family!
Off-Site Visits
We are happy to visit your classroom or club from September through May to discuss the importance of responsible animal care and the mission of the MSPCA. Discussion topics are tailored by age group and can be incorporated into traditional educational units.
Summer Camp
The MSPCA at Nevins Farm hosts a fun and educational Children's Summer Camp! The application process begins in late February of each year. Camp is offered to students in rising grades 2-9. We also recruit volunteer Junior Counselors, age 15+, to participate in this unique, hands-on opportunity!
Little Bookworms Story Time
We invite our community's youngest animal lovers and their grown-ups to join us for story time on Fridays from September through May. This age-appropriate activity helps foster a sense of responsibility and compassion in our youngest visitors, from those in strollers to those in preschool.
Birthday Parties
Give the gift of kindness and compassion. Host your child's birthday at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm! 100% of the proceeds from our birthday party fee goes to the cost of care for our animals awaiting adoption. Reservations available weekends.
