Meet Bambi! This fun loving, pint-sized girl came to us on a transport from a shelter out of state so we don’t know much about her history. What we have found is that she loves to play with her toys and is super snuggly once her needs have been met. We know that she would do best with an adopter who can provide her with some structure and a gentle approach to training while she catches up on her manners.
Stop by our Methuen at Nevins Farm Adoption Center to learn more about this silly girl!
If you think Bambi could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.
Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Meet Chloe! This girly might be shy at first, but quickly blossoms into a friendly and playful buddy. She spent some time in a foster home before joining us at the MSPCA, where she enjoyed hanging out with her people and playing with toys of all kinds (stuffies beware – she’s a shredder!). She’ll happily settle down with some strong toys, or a frozen Kong filled with peanut butter. She’ll thrive with an adopter who’s excited about training using positive reinforcement, and able to manage some frustration while they workshop her space.
*If going home with another dog, a dog meet is required on campus first
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Chloe. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

This handsome fella is Ghost, a 7 year old husky who’d love to add a little excitement to your life! Ghost is a big foodie, and loves to go on long, sniffy walks in the world, so he could make a great adventure buddy once he’s had some time to settle in, but he won’t say no to settling down afterwards to take a nap or work on a nice chew stick or frozen kong!
We don’t have a lot of history on Ghost, but know that he wasn’t regularly meeting or interacting with strangers and had a hard time living with other dogs. Ghost will do best with an adopter who’s ready to help him continue his training journey using positive reinforcement methods, and he says no thank you to living with other animals right now!
In order to best set Ghost and his adopters up for success, please note that Ghost is not a same-day adoption.
Ghost has been through a few transitions recently, and may need a gentle start, but once he feels secure, he’ll reward you with endless love and loyalty!
If you think Ghost could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevins Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday – Sunday from 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed.

We’d like to introduce a very special cat named Groot. He is a one year old cat that loves getting pet, playing with toys, and has a regressive case of FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus which may shorten his lifespan, and we are hoping to find him a loving indoor-only home where he can live out his life. Despite his diagnosis, he is a social and affectionate cat with his favorite humans! Groot would need to be the only cat in the household, or have feline friends that also have FeLV. Interested adopters should click the inquire button below to learn more and shelter staff will provide additional counseling on FeLV and answer any questions at the time of adoption.

The God of mischief himself- Loki! Except this squishy faced cutie isn’:t all that mischevious. He’:s a strong gentle giant that enjoys meeting new people and going on walks. While he means well, his strength can sometimes cause a bit of mischeif- perhaps pulling on leahs while excited or jumping up to greet new friends! With some proper training using positive reinforcement, we can turn this sweet boy into the perfect gentleman. He’:s dreaming of a nice quiet oasis to call his home. Unfortunately for this boy, he does have some ongoiong skin issues that will require some support from a veterinarian. That doesn’:t take away from his good looks though- look at that face! Loki would prefer a home and a lifestyle that does not involve other dogs- he wants to be the one and only! If you think this guy could be a match for you, please come meet him!
Stop by our Boston Adoption Center to meet Loki. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm - 3pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Meet Azul! They have been waiting patiently at the shelter for their perfect adopter to come along. You are welcome to enter our cat rooms during open hours. Staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you!
Azul is a spirit cat, and if you adopt them, you probably wouldn’t even notice they are in your house if it weren’t for the mysterious overnight disappearance of cat food.
We often can’t predict how a spirit cat will be after they settle in – some become comfortable around their family and choose to spend time with them by sharing the same space or allowing some petting, while others continue to prefer to hide when there’s any commotion. Spirit cats generally prefer to spend their time around other cats and make an excellent kitty friend to a cat already in the home. Our staff can help prepare adopters to welcome a spirit cat into a quiet home, but patience and understanding will go a long way with Azul.
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Azul. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.
